OUR COMMITMENT

Monick Grenier personally assesses all new matters to determine if Grenier Law is best suited to represent your interests.  Speak to us about your needs and we will speak to you about how we can serve those needs or, if we believe someone else can serve you better, we will refer you to another trusted legal practitioner, or provide any other options that may be available to you, as appropriate.

Once it is determined that Grenier Law is a good fit for you, depending on your needs, we can provide fee based services, block fee services or, if you are self-represented and wish to remain so, limited scope retainers for those aspects of your case that you may need professional assistance with.

For full retainer, fee based services, Grenier Law operates on an open door policy intended to encourage communications with clients.  As such, client-solicitor communications, such as telephone calls and emails, are regularly discounted so that clients are not discouraged from contacting Grenier Law.

In addition to providing unbundled services, Monick fulfills her personal commitment to promoting access to justice by acting as Duty Counsel at Law Help Ontario.  Monick coordinates the Ottawa Gatineau Chapter of Christian Legal Fellowship.  Monick practices in English but she enjoys interacting with clients in French as much as possible.

When you retain Grenier Law, you can rest assured that by handing over the burden and stress of your legal dispute, you are placing them in good hands.  Remove a weight from your shoulders and contact Grenier Law today.

Grenier Law is an Ottawa, Ontario based law firm operated by Monick Grenier, a hands-on lawyer who cares personally about her clients’ legal issues.  At Grenier Law, we work hard to provide legal services catered to the needs of our clients.  We understand that retaining a lawyer can be a difficult choice to make.

Monick has worked in various capacities in Civil Litigation for more than 20 years before being called to the Ontario Bar as a lawyer in 2012.

She has worked extensively in both plaintiff personal injury and insurance defence law firms, including for a major North American insurance company.  Monick also has a diverse complement of experiences pertaining to Aboriginal and Métis issues and spent 7 years as a land claims researcher.

She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, argued Appeals before the Divisional Court, and represented clients in various matters in the Small Claims Court and before administrative tribunals (i.e. Immigration, Labour, Human Rights, Landlord & Tenant). Monick understands the Rules of Civil Procedure, and the course of a legal action from start to finish.

Monick grew up in the Ottawa area where she completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in 1998.  After university, Monick spent two years working and travelling, including in northern Alberta, San Francisco, Vancouver, and Seoul (South Korea), until moving to Toronto in 2001. While in Toronto, where she lived from 2001 to 2012, Monick worked in the legal field, obtained a Master of Divinity degree in Missions from Tyndale University College & Seminary in 2006, and obtained her law degree (J.D.) from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 2011.

Monick articled at a prominent mid-size insurance defence firm, also in Toronto. She worked within the realms of personal injury (primarily in motor vehicle injury litigation, both in liability and damages), product liability, municipal liability, sexual abuse, construction law (building code violations), employment law and others.

Currently, she is completing a further (LL.L) law degree at the University of Ottawa, which specializes in the civil law of Quebec.
